CONWAY, Ark. _ Just after a just one-yr hiatus thanks to covid-19, the University of Central Arkansas’ Bear Decision Awards, introduced by the UCA Bookstore, returned Tuesday night at To start with Stability Subject at Estes Stadium.
The once-a-year occasion honors and acknowledges UCA’s most effective and brightest scholar-athletes for their achievements, both athletically and academically, all through the college year. Dr. Brad Teague, UCA’s director of athletics, and University student-Athlete Advisory Committee president Jaxson Baker (men’s basketball) and vice president Carly Hudspeth (women’s basketball) served as the hosts for the night.
The awards are voted on by the UCA athletics administration and head coaches from a checklist of university student-athletes nominated by their respective head coaches.
Several awards were being handed out, which includes the yearly Male and Feminine group cumulative grade-point awards, which went to the women’s tennis staff (3.73 GPA) and men’s golf team (3.47 GPA).
The female Freshman of the Yr Award went to Jenna Wildeman from softball. The male Freshman of the Year was A.J. Mendolia from baseball.
The female Athlete of the Calendar year, dependent solely on their athletic achievements, was also Wildeman. The male Athlete of the Year was extensive receiver Tyler Hudson from soccer.
The feminine Pupil-Athlete of the Year, which also incorporates academics, was Elin Kumlin from the golf crew. The male University student-Athlete of the Calendar year was Will Siler from football, with teammate Hayden Ray accepting for him.
