Jake Paul mocks Conor McGregor after Irishman quits v Poirier

Jake Paul has said that talks are underway between he and Conor McGregor’s teams for a super-fight between the two.

Paul has been calling McGregor out for the best part of the year, and says that his management are in discussions with the Irishman’s with the view to an eventual bout.

The YouTube star is represented by BAVAFA Sports boss Nakisa Bidarian, while Paradigm Sports’ Audie Attar takes care of McGregor’s career.

Initial contact was made when an initial offer went out to Attar’s other client, former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping, for an event that would eventually become his fight with Ben Askren.

And there has reportedly been some contact every since, especially since Paul has just beaten a former UFC champion in Tyron Woodley.

And speaking on the Full Send podcast, Paul said that the fight is becoming “more and more real” as talks progress.

“It worked, and it sparked a whole onslaught of attention and media,” Paul said of his infamous McGregor callout video, where he called the legendary fighter an Irish c***, and insulted his fiancee Dee Devlin.

Could Jake Paul beat Conor McGregor in a boxing match? Let us know in the comments!

“And then, reporters are asking him about me. Now, that fight is getting more and more real as every single day goes on.

“I mean, yeah, it could definitely happen. There’s talks with our managers. Anything is possible.”

However, it seems unlikely that the bout will be next, with McGregor currently nursing a broken leg after suffering the horror injury at UFC 264 against Dustin Poirier in their trilogy bout.

And Paul is, according to Mirror Fighting sources, edging towards a bout in December with Love Island star Tommy Fury, with whom he had an altercation backstage after the Woodley fight.

Both men are signed to multi-fight deals with Showtime Boxing in the United States, and picked up wins on the massive pay-per-view card last month.

Fury defeated MMA veteran Anthony Taylor on the undercard of Paul’s fight with Woodley, and seems to have done enough to earn a big money bout against Paul.

Both men are relative novices in their careers, with Paul now 4-0 and Fury 7-0, and Mirror Fighting sources have indicated that talks are underway for a December fight date between both teams.

Talks are still, according to Mirror Fighting sources, in the very early stages, and no venue or concrete date has been set, although the goal is to do it before the end of the year.

And in a recent appearance on the Don’t Blink podcast, Paul’s head coach Flores said that he has told the YouTube star he is behind him taking the fight.

“They [Paul’s management and Showtime] have been talking about Tommy Fury for quite some time,” Flores said of the fight.

“Showtime’s interested in that fight, I believe,” he continued. “I’m not going to say that it’s for sure the next fight that’s happening but I’ve signed off on that.

“I’ve said ‘yes, Jake should take that fight for sure’, but there were a couple of other names mentioned who I have signed off on as well, but we’ll see where it goes.”
