PITTSBURGH — UPMC will have its very first woman president and chief government officer as of Sunday. But the health care giant’s new head honcho just isn’t a new face to the sector.

Leslie Davis has more than 30 decades of experience in health care. Most not too long ago, she served as president of the Health and fitness Companies Division of UPMC. Just in advance of that, she was president of UPMC Magee-Women’s Healthcare facility from 2004-18.

Davis’ new part is a practical instance of how UPMC is closing racial and gender gaps.

“It is so thrilling to see a person who appears like me who is in the most senior position in our corporation,” Davis explained. “When we discuss about gender equity, acquiring someone who appears like me (in leadership) is a typical thing we chat about in closing racial and gender disparities.”
